Who is responsible

The Yellow Commerce Platform is the responsible party for the information described in this notice. You can reach our information officer at hello@yellowcommerce.co.za.

Visiting this website

The public pages of yellowcommerce.co.za do not ask you to sign up, do not use advertising or analytics trackers and do not set cookies. Like any web server, ours may keep technical logs, such as the time of a request and the page requested, to keep the site secure and working.

When you contact us

If you write to us, we use your name, email address and message to reply and to follow up on your enquiry. Email passes through your mail provider and ours. We keep correspondence for as long as the conversation is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, then delete it.

Our own staff

Members of our platform team sign in to a console to run the platform. We keep their name, email address, role, sign-in activity and a record of the changes they make, so that the platform stays secure and accountable.

Shops that use the platform

Merchants run their shops on the platform. When you shop with one of them, that shop decides why and how your personal information is used, and we process it on the shop's behalf. Please read the shop's own privacy notice and contact the shop first about your information. We do not store payment card numbers; card details go directly to the payment provider.

Deleting personal information

A customer or shop admin can ask for their personal information to be deleted. The platform carries out the deletion across the services that hold the information. It cannot go ahead while the person has unfinished orders or open returns, and some records, such as financial records, may have to be kept to meet legal duties.

Your rights

  • Ask whether we hold personal information about you and what it is.
  • Ask us to correct or delete personal information that is inaccurate, out of date or no longer needed.
  • Object to the processing of your personal information.
  • Complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) if you believe we have not handled your information lawfully.

Changes to this notice

We will change this notice when what we do changes, and show the date of the latest change above.
